So Proud Of My Daughter

I’m so extremely proud of my daughter. She’s always been my little twin but for so long she was just my little girl. Now seeing her as a wife and a mom, I’m proud to call her my friend. She’s such an awesome human being. She recently premiered her new show Howard High (which I directed lol) and I’ve had the pleasure to get to see her do all her interviews for her part in the show. It makes me so proud to see how she handles herself and stays so humbled. I may have just raised her right lol. All jokes aside I’m very proud of my Best Friend.

Today marks the premiere of the Chris Stokes created series “Howard High”. Howard High is this generation’s Urban Glee. The concept, which was imagined by Chris Stokes pays homage to one of his favorite shows from his youth, “Fame”.

The show follows ‘Frank King,’ played by Brian White, (“Ray Donovan”/ ”Scandal”) a former honor roll student of the high school who is asked to come back and take a principal position at the school, not knowing that the school is on the verge of closing down because it has become the lowest-ranked school in the state. Frank also doesn’t realize that the only reason ‘Superintendent Thomas,’ played by Dorien Wilson, (“The Parkers”) offered him the position was so he could position him to take the fall and blame him for the school’s decline. To Frank’s surprise, there is major talent right under his nose within the performing arts music program. After firing the music teacher, and with the help of his friend and new music teacher ‘Michael Kirsh,’ played by singer Marques Houston, (You Got Served), Frank and his team just may be able to save the school! The show is also introducing newcomer (and Chris Stokes’ daughter), Chrissy Stokes, in the lead role of ‘Nicki Ross,’ a beautiful moody teenager who’s just moved to Los Angeles from Arizona, where she got into some trouble. She’s a bit shy, and in no rush to reveal the incredible singing talent that she has.

As reported on Blackfilm.com:

Producer Chris Stokes (You Got Served) will be premiering his new forty-minute, musical drama series, “Howard High” on the new streaming service, UrbanFlix TV (Urbanflix TV) on Friday, May 1st.

She’s a bit shy, and in no rush to reveal the incredible singing talent that she has.

To round out the cast, Stokes’ has assembled some of the hottest singers and dancers in Hollywood which include, Jarell “J-Boog” Houston, V Bozeman, Anthony Lewis, Hannah Malone, Lindsay Davis, Earanequa Carter, Dustin Michael, Mila J, Ross Fleming, Ray Ray and Deonte Jackson. The show is written and directed by Chris Stokes who also serves as executive producer alongside Louis Arriola and Bart Malone. Brian White, Marques Houston, Jerome Jones, Shondrella Avery and J Owen.

Stated Stokes. “I’ve always had an affinity for musically driven projects.” “I consider this the television series/musical version of You Got Served. In my era, there was a popular show called “Fame” that was loosely based on The Juilliard School in New York City. Being a big fan of that show and coming from the music/dance background that I come from, I felt that this generation needed their “Fame” …. Obviously with a bit of a twist. In that, I created “Howard High” and made it a point to not only highlight the talent that comes from Urban neighborhoods, but also the challenges that the people and the infrastructure of these areas face. I think that “Howard High” will shed light on these challenges while giving viewers an entertaining, wholesome and fun-loving experience while watching.”

The “Will” To Love Synopsis

Jamal Hawkins is a handsome bachelor who will soon be a very wealthy man. As the primary heir to the “Let It Roll” toilet paper corporation, Jamal is set to inherit his grandfather’s empire. Jamal’s world comes crashing down when he discovers that his grandfather has placed a stipulation on his inheritance. The bachelor must find a wife before his grandfather passes away within the next 90 days. As a man who doesn’t believe in marriage, Jamal is lost on what to do. Matters are further exasperated by Jamal’s conniving half sister, Monica, who calculates a way to steal the corporation right from under her sibling’s nose. In an effort to help, Jamal’s best friend, Danny, devises a plan to fool the Jamal’s family and find a suitable wife as soon as possible. With the aid of his new secretary, Rachel, Danny’s one time fling, the trio comes together to hold a casting call for women of all shapes, types, colors and creeds, that might meet his grandfather’s high standards.

Complications arise when Rachel begins to develop feelings for her debonair boss. Realizing that a relationship with Jamal is a long shot, due to Danny’s continuous unwavering sexual advances, Rachel can’t help but to feel envious of the women she is presenting to her employer. So, it is at Rachel’s dismay when Danny locates the perfect woman for Jamal in the form of Candice, a savvy and seductive businesswoman who is up for the task.

At Jamal’s request, Danny and Rachel attempt to prepare Candice for the looming nuptials by taking her through a rigorous crash course to get to know everything about him. Soon, Jamal and Candice appear to be the perfect couple. That is until it is revealed that in actuality, Candice is working for Monica in an effort to disrupt the bachelor’s plans. After Candice’s appalling revelation, Jamal finds comfort in the arm of the woman who has been by his side through the whole ordeal, Rachel. Discovering his hidden feelings for his secretary and what true happiness can be, but with little time left to convince his grandfather, Jamal comes to terms with the possibility of losing his inheritance.

That is until Candice propositions Jamal for marriage one last time, without Monica, as a means of financial gain for both parties. Now Jamal has to chose what it is that he really wants in life. On one hand there’s Candice and his grandfather’s empire and on the other is Rachel and true happiness. With everything on the line, Jamal chooses the life that he ultimately never knew he wanted, and that is to be with Rachel and forgo his grandfather’s millions. To his surprise, Jamal inherits the family business anyway after it is revealed that his grandfather only wanted him to find true love.

Kanye West Learns How To Shut Up

After joining the club of celebrity husband’s and dad’s, Kanye West has certainly learned a few things.

Kanye appeared on today’s birthday episode of “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” and said that he’s changed since starting his new family.

“I’ve definitely learned how to compromise more,” he told DeGeneres with a laugh.

“Which is something you have to understand when you partner with people in business.”

“I’ve learned how to shut up more,” West, 37, quipped.

“I think I’m a better human being because of her and because of my daughter. And I always have someone to think about going home to.

“There are things I’ve done in the past that were considered negative, but I was really jumping in front of the tank for other people or for culture in a way so now I always have to have that in my mind that I have a family that I have to protect too.”

DeGeneres complimented the outspoken rapper for being calmer as of late.

“You don’t seem angry,” the comedian said.

“I don’t know if it was even anger, but it was just a way that you were getting all of your emotions out. Now I think your emotions are grounded in a way that they come out in protection and love and their channeled in a different way.

“I think I was going through my version of my terrible twos. My daughter she wants to express herself and she just doesn’t have the words for it,” West said comparing himself to 1-year-old North West.

“For me there was so many things I wanted to do with film and clothing and I just didn’t have the words or the resources or the backing or the perception that I could do it being that I was a rapper.”

Speaking of his adorable little girl, West gave all of the viewers a first look at his music video for his new song, “Only One” which was first released earlier this month in collaboration with Paul McCartney.

Charlie Sheen Tells Ashton Kutcher to “Quit Barfing” on Two and a Half Men

The tiger claws are coming out! Charlie Sheen took a jab at Ashton Kutcher — his replacement on CBS’ hit sitcom Two and a Half Men — on Monday, Jan. 6 via Twitter. “Hey Ashton,” wrote the Anger Management star. “Sorry bro all good now quit barfing on my old brilliant show.”

48-year-old Sheen continued, “Remember Punk’d? how duz it feel?” (Punk’d was a hidden-camera, prank show that aired on MTV from 2003-2012, which Kutcher, 35, created, produced and hosted.)

The unpredictable actor’s insult followed an initial tweet just one day before, where he gave a warm shout-out to his former Two and a Half Men colleague, Jon Cryer. “Hey Jon!!! u r a GENIUS!!! I effin love and MISS YOU old pal!” said the social media-happy star. His tweet was a drastic improvement from 2011, when Sheen called Cryer a “troll” and a “traitor” in an interview.

He completed his tweet Sunday with a jab at Kutcher and wrote, “Q; who’s your lame sidekick? c #NiceTryCanonBoy.” The FX star’s hashtag was in reference to Kutcher’s endorsement deal with camera company Nikon — not Canon.

Kutcher has yet to respond to the tweets.

Brad Pitt Opens Up About ‘Wasted’ Years & Damaging Himself With Drugs

chris stokes-brad pitt interview-www.chrisstokesblog.com

Brad Pitt is happier than he has ever been with Angelina Jolie and their close knit family and in a candid new interview he opens up about his drug-damaged life.

The World War Z star talks about his life in the June/July 2013 issue of Esquire, admitting that he damaged himself with drugs and lived a drifter life until about a decade ago, when he found true happiness with Jolie.

Yes, this interview may remind you of the time Jennifer Aniston — sick of Brad’s post-divorce comments — said her ex husband was missing a sensitivity chip!

“For a long time I thought I did too much damage – drug damage. I was a bit of a drifter,” he admitted to the men’s magazine. “A guy who felt he grew up in something of a vacuum and wanted to see things, wanted to be inspired. I followed that other thing. I spent years [expletive] off. But then I got burnt out and felt that I was wasting my opportunity.”

We’re guessing some people will think Brad is referring to those wasted years as part of the time he was with Jen.

Pitt, who announced he was divorcing Aniston in January 2005, managed to turn things around.

“It was a conscious change. This was about a decade ago. It was an epiphany – a decision not to squander my opportunities. It was a feeling of get up. Because otherwise, what’s the point?”

Though his friends and family circle is small, he claims his life is better than ever.

“I have very few friends. I have a handful of close friends and I have my family and I haven’t known life to be any happier. I’m making things. I just haven’t known life to be any happier.”

Pitt, who met Jolie on the 2004 set of Mr. and Mrs. Smith and started a family with her shortly after they were first snapped together on vacation in Kenya in April 2005, gushes over his brood.

“I always thought that if I wanted to do a family, I wanted to do it big. I wanted there to be chaos in the house… there’s constant chatter in our house, whether it’s giggling or screaming or crying or banging,” he exclaimed.

“I love it. I love it. I love it. I hate it when they’re gone. I hate it. Maybe it’s nice to be in a hotel room for a day – ‘Oh, nice, I can finally read a paper.’ But then, by the next day, I miss that cacophony, all that life.”

Randy Jackson Leaving American Idol After 12 Seasons

www.chrisstokesblog.com-randy jackson

Dawg, he’s no longer in it to win it.

Randy Jackson, the musician and producer who has been a judge on American Idol since Season 1, says he will not be coming back to the panel for Season 13 next year.

“Yo! Yo! Yo!” he said in a statement released by his publicist. “To put all of the speculation to rest, after twelve years of judging on American Idol I have decided to leave after this season. I am very proud of how we forever changed television and the music industry. It’s been a life changing opportunity but I am looking forward to focusing on my company Dream Merchant 21 and other business ventures.”

The “speculation” he refers to is Idol’s drifting fortunes this season, with friction between panel-mates Nicki Minaj and Mariah Carey, and ratings down by more than 20% year over year. The situation has spurred conjecture and some unsourced reports that Fox is planning an overhaul for next spring’s cycle.

The Idol finale airs Thursday, May 16, 8 ET/PT on Fox.
