The actress, who stars as Elizabeth Taylor in Lifetime’s upcoming movie Liz & Dick, pulled out of a much-hyped interview with Barbara Walters that was to air last week on ABC’s 20/20.
Walters later told viewers of The View that she was “disappointed” about the cancellation, especially as Lohan had then granted an interview with Leno. When co-host Whoopi Goldberg told Walters that she was a “very different kind of interviewer” than Leno — implying that he would not ask any tough questions — Walters replied: “I couldn’t agree more.”
In the taping for Tuesday’s Tonight Show, Leno asked Lohan about the incident, saying Walters looked “a little … upset.”
“So I heard,” Lohan replied. Asked why she pulled out of the interview, Lohan said: “It’s just, the timing wasn’t right, right now. I love her, and I’m a big fan of Barbara Walters. I met her when I was very young, and when it’s right, she knows she’ll be the first person I sit down with.”
Lohan added that she hasn’t spoken to Walters herself. However, “it’s all good,” she said. “I spoke to her people she works with.”
Watch clips of Lohan’s interview with Leno below. Tonight Show airs at 11:35 p.m. on NBC, while Liz & Dick premieres at 9 p.m. Saturday.
Katie Holmes was in good spirits during an appearance on “Late Night With Jimmy Fallon” Thursday, and the actress revealed that she is open to starring in a “Dawson’s Creek” reunion.
The 33-year-old “Dead Accounts” star was relaxed and happy throughout the segment, despite it being her first post-divorce TV interview. She spoke about her latest acting gig and having slight reservations about a “Dawson’s Creek” reunion.
“We have kind of talked about it here and there but we’re like ‘what do you do’ because our last episode Michelle [Williams’] character passed away,” Holmes said with reference to the character known as “Jen.”
In September, actor Joshua Jackson, who played Pacey in the popular TV series, revealed that Holmes had contacted him to catch up shortly after her divorce from Cruise, 50, was finalized. She had reportedly been interested in the possibility of a show reunion during her marriage to Cruise, although the actor allegedly shot down the idea.
Christina Aguilera shared some “Dirrty” secrets during her October 18 appearance on E!’s Chelsea Lately.
The “Your Body” singer, 31, agreed to appear on the show if host Chelsea Handler, 37, promised to be pantless during their interview. “I’ve heard all about the sh-t Chelsea has talked about me not being a fan of wearing pants,” Aguilera explained. “So when they asked me to come on I thought, ‘I’ll do it, if Chelsea does one thing for me. . .”
Handler obliged, wearing fishnet stockings and hot pants during their chat. “You look hot,” Aguilera told the Chelsea Chelsea Bang Bang author. “It’s a good look for you.”
During their sit-down, Aguilera also explained why she prefers to go commando.
“I don’t like to wear underwear,” the five-time Grammy Award winner said. “I like to be as free as possible at all times. It’s just who I am.”
