All of the rumors that have been swirling around about Eva Longoria and Mark Sanchez have officially been confirmed. The Desperate Housewives star and the New York Jets Quarterback have been seen out frequently together. The actress confirmed on “Extra” with “Mark and I are, you know, fine. We’re happy just dating,” admitted Longoria to friend and host Mario Lopez after he confronted her with the Sept. 11 issue of The Post with their photos and the headline “Mark and Eva celebrate” on the cover.
Lady Gaga, along with the Haus Laboratories in Paris, Steven Klein and perfume giant Coty Inc., threw a black tie masquerade-themed party to celebrate her new fragrance, Fame (y’know, the one with the black liquid) last night. Held at the Guggenheim Museum in New York, the fete was packed with an odd mix of fashion heavyweights (Alexander Wang, Jason Wu, Marc Jacobs), a smattering of random celebs (Lindsay Lohan, Paris Hilton, Yoko Ono) and a lot of people who looked like they didn’t belong at all, save for their curiosity to see Gaga in the flesh. (We obviously fell into the latter group.) Everyone in attendance got the opportunity to see her get a tattoo on the back of her recently shaved head. The night continued with more “oddness” as celebrities and fans alike watched Gaga sleep in an enclosure shaped like the bottle of her new fragrance.
Photos were published today in a well known French magazine of Prince William’s wife Kate sunbathing topless at a private house in southern France, prompting a strong condemnation from the royal family.
Officials said the royal family was considering legal action for a “grotesque and totally unjustifiable” invasion of privacy in the same country where William’s mother Princess Diana died while fleeing paparazzi.
The couple was “saddened” by the use of the photos, which appear genuine, royal officials said.
The revealing pictures of Kate in Closer, a popular gossip magazine, were blurry and shot from a distance. The publication claimed they were taken on a guesthouse terrace in France where the couple vacationed earlier this month. The first major press incident involving William and Kate brought back memories of Diana being hounded by paparazzi in France in the hours and days before her fatal car crash there in 1997.
Royal officials, who demanded anonymity in line with palace policy, condemned the decision to publish the images. “Their Royal Highnesses had every expectation of privacy in the remote house. It is unthinkable that anyone should take such photographs, let alone publish them,” a St. James’s Palace official in London said. “The incident is reminiscent of the worst excesses of the press and paparazzi during the life of Diana, Princess of Wales, and all the more upsetting to the Duke and Duchess for being so.”
The palace official said representatives of the couple were consulting with lawyers. The royal family is outraged and feels that the magazine has gone to far.
Singer Nick Lachey and his actress and television host wife Vanessa Lachey welcomed their first child, a baby boy, this week. Vanessa Lachey (née Minnillo) gave birth to Camden John Lachey on Wednesday evening, the couple confirmed to E! News. “We are incredibly proud to announce the birth of our beautiful baby boy, Camden John Lachey,” the couple said in a statement Wednesday to E! News. “Born today at 6:54 p.m., he came into this world at 8 pounds, 9 ounces and 21 inches. Love has truly been redefined for both of us.” Nick Lachey, 38, rose to fame in the 1990s boy group 98 Degrees, and became a pop culture fixture during his highly publicized marriage to Jessica Simpson, which was chronicled on the MTV reality series “Newlyweds: Nick and Jessica.” This summer he was a contestant on the NBC reality competition series “Stars Earn Stripes.”
Vanessa Lachey, 32, is a former beauty queen who hosted MTV’s “Total Request Live” from 2003 through 2007, and now hosts “Wipeout” on ABC. She has also appeared on a number of TV series, including NBC’s “30 Rock” and CBS’ “How I Met Your Mother.” The couple wed last summer, and revealed in June that they were expecting.
Every season the celebrity attendance has been increasing for New York’s Fashion Week, from actresses like Kate Bosworth and Kirsten Dunst to swimming superstar Ryan Lochte. But it wasn’t till the second to last day of Fashion Week that the real star power arrived: Kim Kardashian and Kanye West. The pair surprised everyone at Wednesday evening’s Marchesa show, watching the runway intently from front row seats beside Tyra Banks. We were pretty psyched to see them there, namely because Kim was wearing an explosive feather confection while Yeezy was bravely rocking the double denim (were these two even dressing for the same event?) Then, within the hour, the pair did a costume change and showed up at the Louise Goldin show, with Kim sporting a cute varsity jacket. (Goldin, if you recall, is the British designer who helped Kanye launch his own womenswear line last year.) Kim seemed to enjoy herself, tweeting, “Marchesa show was beyond beautiful!!!!” Kanye was silent on Twitter but was no doubt singing Marchesa and Louise Goldin’s praises in ALL CAPS in his head.
Project Runway mogul Heidi Klum admits she is in a relationship with her family’s bodyguard, Martin Kristen. But she wasn’t involved with him when she was married. On Katie on Wednesday, Klum said, “I don’t even know if I can even call it that. I don’t know, it just started. So I don’t know. I don’t know where it’s going to go.” Klum added, “I’ve known him for four years and he’s been with our family for the last four years. He’s cared for, our entire family mostly for our four children, helped us tremendously. I trust himâ?¦I mean, I trust him with my children’s life. He’s a great man, you know and we just got to know each other from a completely different side.” As for how things are going with Seal? This is one split that doesn’t sound so amicable. “I don’t know if we’re the greatest friends right now … especially the things that he said … you know I just saw him … we were talking and we’re in an OK place. … It’s a work in progress. You have to take it one day at a time. It’s hard especially when you are in the public eye too. You know you’re always you’re always going to have people looking at you closely at everything you do. And they also don’t always see exactly how it really is.” She wasn’t pleased with Seal’s cheating accusations, either. “I don’t love that. … obviously it’s not true. When you know I’ve never looked at another man while I was with him and it’s hard when you think that he thinks that. Or that … he’s hurt. He’s moved on, you know, and we separated and he’s moved on and so have I. And it’s very hard when, when you then start seeing somebody again, for the first time it’s hard then when all of a sudden everyone is watching you. It’s almost like you can’t even have a real, proper chance in a way.” We’ll see what happens, but Klum seems very happy!
Law officials can breathe a sigh of relief today as one of Mexico’s biggest drug lords is captured. Jorge Eduardo Costilla Sanchez, one of the country’s most wanted drug lords was captured by the Mexican marines. Mr Costilla, a suspected Gulf cartel leader, was detained in the northern state of Tamaulipas, they said. His capture follows the arrest last week of the suspected head of a rival Gulf faction, Mario Cardenas Guillen. The Gulf cartel has been engaged in a bloody battle with the Zetas drug gang for trafficking routes into the US. A Mexican Navy statement said a man identifying himself as Jorge Costilla Sanchez was arrested on Wednesday in Tampico in Tamaulipas. The Navy said more details would be issued early on Thursday. Mr Costilla, known as El Coss, is wanted by both the Mexican and US authorities. He is on the Mexican government’s list of the 37 most wanted drug lords, with a reward of more than $2m offered for information leading to his capture. More than 20 of the men on the list, which was published in early 2009, have been killed or captured. Mr Costilla, who had been a local police officer in the city of Matamoros, joined the Gulf cartel in the early 1990s. The cartel has been weakened since 2010 when relations were severed with the Zetas, its former enforcers, who are now one of Mexico’s most powerful drug-trafficking organisations. The gang also split into rival factions in 2010 after the then head, Antonio Cardenas Guillen, was killed in a shootout with troops. The latest arrests come during the final months in office of President Felipe Calderon, who launched a crackdown on the cartels in 2006 and will be very helpful to him in the upcoming elections.
The time has finally arrived!! After months of rampant rumors and hype, Apple debuted its latest smartphone Wednesday in front of a packed house at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts, claiming it is the world’s thinnest.
The iPhone 5 features a larger screen and weighs 112 grams, or about 4 ounces, which is 20% lighter than the iPhone 4S. It is also 18% thinner, Apple’s marketing chief Phil Schiller said. It has an improved A6 processor that is twice as fast as its predecessor, high-speed 4G LTE connectivity and a widescreen aspect ratio.
Apple has also improved the device’s battery life and updated both of its cameras, giving its front camera 720p HD video. The company also announced a smaller dock connector for the device and a new cable charger named Lightning that is 80% smaller than its predecessor.
Siri got a makeover as well, and can now tell users the scores of sports games and post status updates to Facebook. The iPhone 5’s dock connector has also been made smaller.
A high-speed car chase occurred late Wednesday morning when a group of men fled authorities after reportedly committing an armed robbery. The police continued chasing the car for over an hour, following it through downtown Los Angeles. They are said to have robbed a Bank of America in Santa Clarita, and at least three men got out of the car during the chase. The men apparently began throwing money out of the car, making the situation more dangerous as bystanders began running after the cash. The car chase ended and the FBI confirms that all the suspects have been apprehended. A person in a silver truck blocked off the suspects’ car and that was the end of the chase that lasted over an hour. A giant crowd gathered around and applauded when the suspects were arrested.
