Jennifer Lopez’s latest TV venture has been targeted by conservative campaigners over its focus on a lesbian couple raising children.
Lopez is an executive producer of new small screen series “The Fosters” with her Nuyorican Productions company, and the show stars Teri Polo of “The West Wing” and Sherri Saum of “Rescue Me.”
However, its focus on same-sex parents raising kids together has angered activists at One Million Moms, who have urged members to complain to the network behind the show, ABC’s Family Channel.
The post reads, “ABC Family has approved a series pilot from Jennifer Lopez’s production company, Nuyorican, about a lesbian couple and their diverse family… Because of family being part of the network’s name, we thought a warning should still be sent out for anyone who continues to watch the channel. A premiere date has not been set, but One Million Moms wanted to sound the alarm about this new series. It will be airing on the network soon unless we do something about it…
