So give yourselves humbly to Jehovah. Resist Satan the Devil and he will flee from you.

(James 4:7, TLB)
Today’s Scripture tells us to resist the enemy. To resist means to not agree with what he’s telling you, but rather to believe what Jehovah says about you. When you hear him whisper, “You’re all washed up. You’ve made too many mistakes,” the way you resist it is to answer, “No, thanks. Get behind me Satan! Jehovah’s mercy is bigger than any mistake. My best days are still in front of me.” Don’t assist the enemy; resist him. When he tells you, “You don’t deserve to be blessed. Look what you’ve done,” resist him by declaring,” I am the righteousness of God. I am forgiven. I am redeemed.” When the enemy says, “Well, you blew it. You knew better, and now you’re guilty,” tell him, “There is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. I asked Jehovah for forgiveness, and He not only forgave me, but He doesn’t remember it. I’m going to live confidently, securely, holy, blamelessly, righteously, and honorably in Jesus’ Name.”

“Father, thank You that when the accuser tries to dump a load of guilt on me, I can say with authority, ‘Condemnation is not acceptable here. Jesus paid the price.’ I am far from perfect, but I will not drag yesterday’s failures into today. I am forgiven. In Christ Jesus’ Name, Amen.” Have the greatest week. @chrisstokes1969#chrisstokes 🙏🏾

Jury finds both Amber Heard and Johnny Depp liable for defamation

(CNN)A jury has found both Amber Heard and Johnny Depp liable for defamation in their lawsuits against each other.

Depp sued Heard, his ex-wife, for defamation over a 2018 op-ed she wrote for The Washington Post in which she described herself as a “public figure representing domestic abuse.” Though Depp was not named in the article, he claims it cost him lucrative acting roles. Heard countersued her ex-husband for defamation over statements Depp’s attorney made about her abuse claims.

Weighing the claims, a jury found that both of the exes defamed each other.

The jury awarded Depp $10 million in compensatory damages and $5 million dollars in punitive damages. The jury awarded Heard $2 million in compensatory damages and no money for punitive damages. Depp sought $50 million in damages and Heard sought $100 million. Punitive damages in the state of Virginia are capped at $350,000, so the judge reduced the punitive damages award to that amount.

Message for Today

Acts 8:1, 5

Jehovah knows how to get you out of your comfort zone. He opened the door; He can close the door. That closed door is Jehovah pushing you. Maybe you’ve been pushed out of Jerusalem, so to speak, through a bad break, a disappointment, a betrayal. Don’t be discouraged. If it weren’t going to work for your good, Jehovah wouldn’t have allowed it. Jerusalem may have closed, but Samaria is about to open. Jehovah wouldn’t be pushing you if He didn’t already have a door open.

Father, thank You that You know what’s best for me, and You’re pushing and stretching me out of my comfort zone and into my purpose. Thank You for closed doors as well as open doors. I believe that You have something better, something more rewarding up in front of me. @chrisstokes1969#Chrisstokes 🙏🏾🙏🏾
